Oleh itu, the mullite seramics are widely used as thermal insulation materials, gas/liquid filters, catalytic carriers, etc. In recent years, significant efforts have been devoted to explore the techniques to generate the porous mullite ceramics.
Secara amnya, the manufacturing methods of porous mullite ceramics include replica template method, sacrificial pore forming agent method, reaction method, freeze-drying and foam-gelcasting ,etc. However, most of these methods employ expensive raw materials or complicated technological routes during the preparation process. Additionally, the volatile (or even toxic) gases generated by decomposition or combustion of pore forming agents and template components during high temperature process led to the significant environmental pollution, thereby limiting widespread application.
